PEGylation Technology Platform

PEGylation is a technology that combines polyethylene glycol (PEG) with drugs, proteins, and/or nanocarriers with covalent bonds. PEG possesses good biocompatibility property. It can also avoid the absorption of proteins in the blood, thus slowing down the rate of drug excretion from the body, and prolong the retention time of the drug or nanocarriers in the blood, thereby achieving a sustained effect. MegaPro Biomedical has accumulated considerable experience in PEGylation technology, including various types of PEG modification, purification, identification, etc., and has successfully applied to the surface modification of various nanocarriers. Currently, this technology has been applied in the application of the company's active developed iron oxide nano particle injection (IOP Injection) and nano carriers of drugs.

Iron oxide nanoparticle (IOP) injection has completed its animal testing and safety evaluation. It will enter its Phase I of the clinical trial, moving towards the goal of launching the product on the market. It is expected that the first type of medicine will be launched in 2018, providing chronic kidney disease patient with a fast and effective iron supplement.
